Frequently Asked Questions

Therapy FAQs

  • My practice operates on a self-pay basis and does not bill insurance directly. Working outside of insurance allows therapy to remain flexible and focused on your individual needs rather than insurance requirements.

If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.

  • Therapy sessions are offered in several different lengths depending on your needs. All sessions are conducted through secure telehealth.

    Session Options

    30-minute session – $90
    45-minute session – $120
    55-minute session – $135
    85-minute extended session – $180

Many clients choose the 55-minute session as a standard appointment length, though shorter or extended sessions may be helpful depending on scheduling needs or the depth of work being done.

  • Working outside of insurance allows therapy to focus on the needs of the client rather than insurance restrictions. This approach can offer greater privacy and allows treatment to be guided by clinical judgment rather than coverage limitations.

  • The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and discuss what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about your goals, current challenges, and what you hope to gain from the process.

It’s also a chance for you to determine whether my approach feels like a good fit.

  • My supervision style focuses on developing strong clinical judgment, ethical decision-making, and confidence in your professional identity as a social worker. Supervision is a space to explore complex clinical situations, strengthen therapeutic skills, and reflect on the challenges that arise in practice.

I aim to create a supportive and collaborative environment where supervisees feel comfortable asking questions, thinking critically about their work, and developing their voice as clinicians.

Good Faith Estimate Notice (No Surprises Act)

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers are required to provide clients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance with an estimate of the expected charges for services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services, including therapy services. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. You may request a Good Faith Estimate at any time before or during your care.
